Earbud: Skullcandy

My third painting done for Painting II class . The assignment was to do a realistic study of shadows.

For this assignment I decided to do two things: paint my favorite earbuds and use only 3 colors: blue, red and white.

What I did was to stick the earbuds to the wall of the classroom with push pins, and paint the shadows that would form around the earbud . The colors I used for the whole painting where pthalo blue, alizarin crimson and titanium white (which are pretty much my favorite colors of them all ).

The little specks on the background are the holes that the push pins from past critiques (we hang our works on the wall with the help of push pins ) have left. This was done so the background could look like the actual wall rather than a generic white background .

I am very satisfied with how it came out . The only bad thing about it was that I was missing them a lot while they were hanging because I couldn't move them but it actually paid off . I am also very glad that my colleagues were so respectful of my work and didn't touch them at all!
